We are implementers of renewable energy technologies for marginalized, rural communities around the globe. We promote the 3 E's of sustainable development: Environmental Quality, Economic Vitality, and Equal Opportunity.
We have seen that the key project stakeholders--NGO, funding agency, technical developer, suppliers, and communities--are often so focused on completing their project, that they have little time to connect with others who have done similar work and have already overcome similar challenges.
Since there is little connection amongst the numerous implementers of community micro hydro, there is currently no way of building upon each others knowledge and rich experiences. The lack of interaction amongst all those who work on micro hydro has become a bottleneck for bringing innovation and high quality to community-based micro hydro projects. Imagine the solutions that would transpire from linking hands-on knowledge from around the globe!
Therefore, the focus of Peer Hydro Network is to facilitate innovation and high quality implementations of community-based micro hydro, by bringing together key project stakeholders.
